These terms govern your use of the Coco Jalila website and the purchase of products from it. By browsing the site or placing an order, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy notice, our Cookie policy, and our Delivery & returns page.

Who we are

Coco Jalila is a chocolate atelier based in the United Arab Emirates. Using this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes and to place genuine orders. You may not misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, or copy its content for commercial use without our permission.

We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the site without notice. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available or uninterrupted.

The site is intended for customers in the United Arab Emirates. We do not currently sell or deliver outside the UAE.

Orders and acceptance

When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we confirm that your order is being prepared — not when you receive the automated acknowledgement of payment.

We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch — for example where an item is unavailable, where there is a genuine error in the price or description, or where we are unable to deliver to the address given. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we refund it in full.

Once an order is confirmed and in production it usually cannot be changed. Contact us as quickly as possible if something needs to change and we will do whatever we can.

Pricing and payment

Prices are shown in UAE dirhams (AED) and, where applicable, include VAT. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout before you pay.

We take care to price products correctly. If we discover an error in the price of an item you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatch so you can choose to continue at the correct price or cancel.

Payment is processed securely through Amazon Payment Services. We do not see or store your full card details. Your order is prepared once payment has been authorised.

Delivery

We deliver across all seven emirates. Rates, lead times and order cut-off times are set out on our Delivery & returns page and shown again at checkout.

You choose a delivery date at checkout. Some dates are unavailable — public holidays and kitchen closures, for example — and are blocked automatically. Couriers may shift a delivery window by a few hours during busy periods.

Risk in the products passes to you on delivery to the address you provide. Because our products are perishable, please make sure someone is available to receive them.

Cancellations, returns and refunds

Our products are perishable, hand-finished food items. For food-safety reasons we cannot accept the return of opened items, and we do not offer change-of-mind returns once an order is in production or has been delivered.

This does not affect your rights where an item arrives damaged, defective, or not as described. If something is wrong, contact us within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and photographs, as set out on our Delivery & returns page, and we will make it right.

Where a refund is due, it is made to the original payment method through Amazon Payment Services. Refunds typically reach your account within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

Product information and allergens

We describe our products as accurately as we can. Photographs are illustrative, and because each piece is hand-finished, items vary slightly from one to the next.

Our chocolate is made in a kitchen that handles nuts, dairy, gluten and other allergens. Allergen information is listed on each product page. If you have a serious allergy, please contact us before ordering — we would always rather you asked.

Your account

You can place orders as a guest or create an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for activity that takes place under your account.

Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe is being misused.

Intellectual property

The Coco Jalila name, logo, product designs, photography, text and the design of this website are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. You may not reproduce them for commercial purposes without our written permission.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, our total liability arising from any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including courier disruption, extreme weather or supply shortages.

Privacy and your data

We handle personal data in line with applicable UAE data-protection law. Our Privacy notice and our Cookie policy explain what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using this site you acknowledge those documents.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from an order, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. The courts of Dubai have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under UAE law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you place an order is the version that applies to that order. The "last updated" date shown above tells you when this page last changed.
